New issues continue to be heavily over-subscribed. The latest, the Port of London authority £2,000,000 5 per cent, at £lO 10s., was covered 25 times. A total of £270,000,000 has been offered in three weeks in response to invitations to subscribe £8,900,000.

Dispatches from New York state that it is understood that Mr. Joseph McLennan, racing secretary of the South Maryland Agricultural Association, has been in communication with Mr. Davis regarding the possible appearance of Phar Lap on the Bowie track, Maryland, early in April. The Japanese authorities have decided to recall home five cruisers, two aircraft carriers and 16 destroyers from the 3rd Japanese Fleet in Chinese waters. On March 20 an order to the above effect was accordingly issued.
