COAT AS LIFEBUOY

WOMAN'S MARVELLOUS ESCAPE. Mrs. Hayes, of Hill Avenue, Victoria Park, Bristol, England, recently fell over the cliff at Lulworth Cove, Dorset, into the water 200 feet below, and was rescued suffering from a broken leg and head injuries. The woman, who was with relatives, while walking to the look-out on the west side of the cove, got ahead of the party and was seen to disappear over the cliff. A boat was launched and she was found floating with her head just above water. Witnesses state that she owed her escape to the fact that her coat had become locked with air during her fall. This kept her afloat.
