CHURCH-GOING BURGLAR

PRAYER-BOOK LEFT IN WRONG

PLACE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, this clay. Instead of taking his prayer book to church on April 26, Frederick Burnard Roberts, a middle-aged accountant, left it in an office which he broke into. The occupier discovered the book on his desk and Roberts later admitted it was his property. At the Police Court to-day Roberts was committed for sentence on charges of breaking and entering, stealing blank cheque forms, and forging two cheques. The detective said the accused was not an habitual burglar, but had been drinking too much of late.
