FEILDING SALE. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd. report on Feilding' sale held on Friday, May 8. Another very heavy yarding of fat sheep and lambs came forward consisting of some good quality pens, but the majority being only fair to medium. The store pens were also well filled. The demand for good quality fat sheep and lambs was keen, but medium quality pens were hard to quit, although every pen sold under the hammer. The demand for ewes in lamb was keen, especially for young sheep. A large entry of both run and dairy cattle met with poor demand. Fats sold at late rates. We quote: Fat lambs 7/7 to 15/4, fat ewes 7/3 to 10/8, fat wethers 13/3, store lambs 6/6, 4 and 6-th ewes r.w.s.d. ram, 9/-, store ewes 4/6, b.f, lambs 5/9, ewe lambs 6/5 to 12/10, 2-th wethers 9/6, 2-th ewes r.w. S.D. ram 15/7 to 18/2, fat cows £2/5/- to £3/17/6, fat heifers £5/5-, weaner heifers £l/7/6 to £2/15/-, store cows 15/- to £l/15/-, S.H. steers £2/4/-, heifers r.w.b. £2/13/6 to £7/12/6, spg. heifers £B/5/-, cows in milk £B/5/-, spg. cows £3 to £B/12/6.
DAIRY PRODUCE.
Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London principals, Messrs. Samuel Page and Son, dated Bth instant: — Butter: The market is very depressed. Prices are 1/- to 2/- lower. (Last quotations: New Zealand, finest salted at 105/- to 107/-). Cheese: The market is very depressed. Prices are 1/1 to 2/- lower. (Last quotations: New Zealand, white, at 45/- to 47/-; New Zealand coloured at 48/- to 50/-.)
TALLOW, SKINS AND HIDES.
Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., in conjunction with Abraham & Williams, Ltd., report:— We held our fortnightly sale of tallow, skins and hides to-day, when we offered a good catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. Sheepskins: Competition for these was keen, prices for drys showed very little change as compared with last sale, being, if anything a little easier. Salted skins were very firm. Hides: These were keenly competed for, but with the exception of heavy ox, which were firm, prices for light and medium cows and ox were about i/ t d to /id lower. Calf skins were about V 2 d lower. Tallow: In sympathy with the London market this is a little easier, being about 6d to 1/- per cwt. lower than last sale.

Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London House, dated 7th instant: — New Zealand prime Canterbury lamb, 28/361b5., 6%d, prime North Island lamb, 28/361b5., 6d, prime Canterbury lamb, 36/421b5., 6%d, prime North Island lamb, 36/421b5., 6d. prime Canterbury lamb, second quality, 5%d, prime North Island lamb, second quality, 5%d, prime Canterbury lamb, 42/501b5., 6%d, prime North Island lamb, 42/501b5., 6d. The market for New Zealand lamb is firmer. The demand runs principally on finest qualities. New Zealand Canterbury mutton, 48/561b5., 3%d, prime North Island mutton, 48/561b5., 3%d, prime Canterbury mutton, 56/641b5., 3%d, prime North Island mutton, 56/641b5., 3% d, prime Canterbury ewes, 48/641b5., 2%d, prime North Island ewes, 48/64 lbs., 2%d. The market for New Zealand mutton if, any change, is in favour of sellers. The demand is better.

The market for Australian mutton is steady. The demand is moderate. Beef: N.Z. prime ox beef, hinds, 3%d; fores 2 1 / i A. Argentine chilled, hinds 5%d; forces 2%d. The market for New Zealand beef is dull. The demand is limited. Pork: English pork, 80/1001bs.. 9%d, N.Z. porkers, 80/1001bs., 5%d, N.Z. porkers, 100/120, sd. Southdown lamb %d premium.
