FRANKTON STOCK SALE.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton saleyards on Tuesday, 3rd February, as under: —
There was a very small yarding of beef and prices were higher by 10s to 20s per head on last week’s rates. Small light fat steers made £6 5s to £9 Is; fat cows to £6 6s. There was .an average yarding of fat sheep. Prices for wethers were lower but fat ewes sold at full late rates. Prime fat wethers sold at up to 13s, fat ewes 5s 5d to 6s 6d, fat lambs 10s to 14s, medium quality wethers 9s to 10s 6d. There was a large yarding of store sheep and a good demand at late rates. The following prices were obtained: —Forward lambs 8s to 8s 9d, store lambs 5s 3d to 6s 4d, small lambs 3s 2d to 4s 9d, mixed aged ewes ex Coast 8s 2d, aged ewes 5s 3d, 5-year ewes 6s lOd to 7s 3d, aged ewes 4s lOd to 5s 6d, cull ewes 2s 9d 2d, small 4-tooth ewes 8s 9d, store wethers Bs. Store cattle were yarded in small numbers and met a weak demand. We sold a line of P.A., Hereford and Shorthorn steers at £6 to to £4 3s.
