There are more ways of touring the countryside than with the motor-car. A New Plymouth boy has just returned home after a bicycle tour of the North Island in which 900 miles were covered. From New Plymouth he pedalled alone to Wellington, where he picked up two South Island friends. The party proceeded up the east coast to Napier and then struck inland to the Taupo district, coming through to the National Park. _ From there they went to Raetihi and thence to Wanganui and back to New Plymouth. The New Plymouth youth sustained only one puncture on the whole journey and that occurred in a Wellington thoroughfare.
