FEIL.DING SALE. Messrs. Abraham and Williams. Ltd., report on Feilding sale held on Friday,, 15th August:—A very limited entry of both fat and store sheep came forward, and the demand throughout was keen at prires for all classes in advance of previous week. A full yarding of dairy stock met with an extra good sale and both fats and stores sold freely. A special entry of dairy cows and heifers on behalf of J. T. Gibson, Esq., Kiwitea, came forward in good condition, and a pen of 10 of the Jersey cross realised £ll 10s. The balance of the entry sold at market rates. We quote:— Fat lambs 15s 9d to 18s; fat hoggets 15s 4d to 14s; fat wethers 27s Id; ewe hoggets 22s lOd; 4, G and 4-year ewes, r.w. S.D. rams, 24s 7d; ewes 23s 3d. Fat cows £7 to £10; store cows £2 16s to £4; weaner heifers £5.
Dairy Cows. —Springing cows £8 to £l2; September calvers £7 to £7 10s; springing heifers £6 to £lO ss.
SKIN AND HIDE SALE. Messrs. Dagety and Co., Ltd., report:—At the usual fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hides, tallow and sundries held on 15th August, we submitted a good average sized catalogue of all descriptions to the usual attendance of buyers. Sheepskins.—There was fair competition for all grades at a lower level of values. The well-prepared parcels declined id. to ad. on late rates, while inferior and shabby parcels receded a full Id.
Hides.—A good offering of butchers’ hides was submitted, wellconditioned lots selling on a par with previous quoted rates. Dark and discoloured lots were id to Id ower. Cut, slippy and inferior parcels sold at correspondingly lower rates. Kip, yearling and calf sold well up to last sale’s level of values. Tallow.—Very little demand, prices being without much alteration. The following is the range of prices.:— Sheepskitrs.—Half bred 6.|d; fine crossbred, 3id to 7id; medium crossbred 4ld to Giid; coarse crossbred, 4d to 6id; half wools, 3d to Gid; quarter wools, 2ld to sld; pelts 2d to 4ld; quarter wools, salted, 2s 6d; % wools 3s 6d to 4s 3d; full wools 4s to 4s 9d.
Hides.—Ox: 33 to 441bs, 3d to 52; 45 to 521bs, 4|d to sld; 53 to 591bs, 4id to 5Ad;; 60 to 691bs, 5d to syd; 701bs and over, sld to stf. Cow: 33 to 391bs, 3§d to 51d; 40 to 481bs, l|d to 53d; 491bs and over, 4|d to sid. Kip, 25 to 32lbs, 13d to sid; 17 to 241bs, 4|d to 7ld; yearling 11 to lGlbs, 4ld to 8d; calf—9 to lOlbs, 7id; Gibs to 81bs, 5d to 9|d; lib to 51bs, B|d to 9§d.
