CHARGING ELECTRIC LIGHT.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —As an interested reader of the letters from your various correspondents re the Taupiri Street Hall, I notice there is one point on which the writers all agree: That is the fact that the lighting account was allowed to run on for nearly two years without being paid. Mr. Sparks now tells us that the Power Board has agreed to accept til, or less than half the amount due, in settlement of the account. As a consumer of current I would like to know on whose authority the account was allowed to run for this period without being paid and also the reason that it is now reduced to less than half. Does this special treatment apply only to the operatic Society or can any consumer obtain these special concessions if he lets his account run long enough?- I am, etc., WATT. Te Kuiti, 18/8/30.
