BOWLING.

LABOUR DAY TOURNAMENT. GAMES KEENLY CONTESTED. Bowls in Victoria Park were a big attraction in Te Awamutu on Momday, the special event being a fullrink tournament under the auspices of the Te Awamutu Bowling Club. Twenty teams competed and some keen contests eventuated. The weather was not exactly ideal, but everything was done to ensure a happy time for all competitors. Following were the teams:- — Frankton: Kirton, Mara, Harper, and Crawshaw (skip). Te Awamutu: H. Andrew, A. Finch, C. Bowden, and T. Finch (skip). Hamilton East: Wallis, Webster, Prickett, and G. Lymburn (skip). Te Awamutu: A. Christie, A. G. Weatherell, J. Cocker, H. A. Buchell (skip). Morrinsville: Sanders, Sing, Hetherington and S. Cornish (skip). Te Awamutu: H. Dunkley, S. Dowds, R. Noonan, and L. G. Armstrong (skip). Te Awamutu: T. Grant, G. F. Smith, J. A. Hawkins, and W. J. North (skip). Te Awamutu: C. Mclnnes, S. S. Preston, T. W. Gee, and R. Metcalfe (skip). Wilkinson, W. Wilkinson, and Easter (skip). At the end of the day’s play it was seen that W. Douglas’ (Te Awamutu) rink had best results, with five wins and no losses. The nearest to him were W. J. North (Te Awamut u) and Harris (Te Kuiti), with four wins and one loss, and these were followed by R. Ross (Te Awamutu) and McLeod (Te Kuiti), with three wins, one draw and one loss. The winning team was heartily congratulated upon its win.
