CHRISTMAS TRAFFIC.
HEAVY BOOKINGS ON RAILWAY. EXTRA EXPRESS TRAINS. The local railway office reports very heavy bookings on all holiday trains. All north bound trains up to Sunday night are fully booked, and bookings cannot be made for any trains travelling north until Monday. Bookings are heavier this year than last, and the prospects are for an exceedingly busy season. Extra expresses are being run by the Department to cope with e rush of traffic. Four express trains, including two extra expresses passed through'Te Kuiti last night carrying a full quota of passengers. i Extra expresses, in addition to ordinary, will be run to-night. A train leaving Wellington at 7.15 p.m. tonight for Auckland will stop at Te Kuiti and leave at about 5.45 a.m. to-morrow morning. Extra expresses will leave Te Kuiti on Monday morning at 9.7 and 9.30 a.m. (approximately) for Auckland. An Auckland-Wellington extra express leaving Auckland at about 2 p.m. to-day, will leave Te Kuiti at 6.20 p.m. to-night, and will pick up passengers here. This train will arrive at Wellington about 8 a.m. to-morrow morning.
