Sir James and Lady Parr gave a dinner at the Mayfair Hotel to 35 New Zealand authors, artists and journalists, including David Low, Harry Rowntree, Fred Doidge, Marie Ney, Isobel Wilford, Stella Murray, Rosemary Rees, and the Hon. Pember Reeves.
