Two Australians and an Italian were taken to hospital hy the police, following a fight at Shepparton, Melbourne, in which knives were used. Hundreds of people watched the brawl, in which four Italians and two Australians were concerned.
The steamer Morinda, which went ashore on the coast of Papua, is pounding heavily. All hopes of refloating her have been abandoned. It is feared that the vessel will soon break up. The anchors are failing to hold her and she is moving farther, up the reef. The Papuan Chief is standing by.

During the Moscow Trades Union Congress, M. Kroll, ex-president of the Food Workers’ Union, and a member of the Central Council, began reading a resolution attributing the unfavourable conditions of the workers to the present policy, and urging the recall of Trotsky aud his followers from exile.
