CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS.
PIO PIO TO MEET ATHLETIC. FOR HETET MEMORIAL SHIELD. On Saturday, Pio Pio, the 1928 .Maniapoto champion club team, will meet Athletic, the Taumarunui champion team, for the Hetet Shield, donated by Mr. J. Hetet, of Te Kuiti, and emblematic of the champion club team ,of the King Country, on the Domain. The game should prove the most exciting seen in Te Kuiti so far this season, as both teams play really good football and have unbeaten records in club matches. Pio Pio were also undefeated last year, and are an evenly balanced team both back and forward. Pio Pio is especially strong in the vanguard, and in this division would compare more' than favourably with many a metropolitan club team. The majority of the visitors are Taumarunui subUnion representatives and were members of the victorious team which won the coveted Carlson Cup from Ohura recently. Having won the latter trophy, Taumarunui is now the champion sub-Union of the King Country. Athletic are very anxious that the Hetet Shield should also find a resting place in Taumarunui, but in Pio Pio they will be meeting foemen worthy of their steel, and who will be triers from the time the "barrier lifts" until the finish. To allow" the visitors to return by the 4.10 train, it has been decided to commence the match at 1.45 p.m. PIO PIO REPRESENTATIVES. The following team will represent Pio Pio:— Fullback: ' Weo. . Threequarters: Griffin, T. Maata. Watson. Five-eighths: Hunt, Hickey. Halfback: Rauputu. Rover: Faulke. Forwards: Ronaldson, McDonald, Taylor, Wetere, Hemplemam Slaney, Boddy. Emergency: Cocking.
