ADVANCES FOR HOMES ACT. FAVOURABLE AMENDMENT. (Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 10.15 a.m.) Sydney, this day. The New South Wales Government has decided to amend the Advances for Homes Act, whereby the Government Savings Bank will help people to build their own homes, and the provisions whereof have been liberaliS<Tlie borrowers will now be able to obtain loans up to £IOOO instead of £750, in addition to securing up to 90 per cent, of the value of the security. The loans will be restricted to applicants with incomes up to £SOO.
