RAID ON CITY CLUB.
OVER FIFTY ARRESTS WADE.
ON GAMBLING CHARGE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Wellington, this day. The police last night raided a city club, of v/hich the name was not published, and arrested over .50 men on a charge of gambling. They smashed the door in, and one man who went to see what was happening, narrowly escaped injury. The men were taken in batches to the police station, which was busy till the small hours of the morning while the defendants were searched and bail was found. They appear in .Court to-day.
