BUTTER-FAT PAYMENTS.
OVER HALF A MILLION. . FIGURES IN WAIKATO. Nearly £600,000 has been distributed in butter-fat payments to suppliers in the Waikato this month, and will greatly ease financial stringency where it exists. On Tuesday the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company commenced distributing to its suppliers £485,828 for butter-fat. Compared with the figures for the corresponding month of last year (£400,036) this represents an increase of £85,792 in the payment. Following on the release of over £lll,OOO by nine other co-opevative companies in the Waikato, this allocation should make itself felt by stimulating activity in commercial and business circles, and with Christmas only a few days off, will greatly increase the spending power of the farmer.
