Sir Guy Gaunt's wife was granted a divorce on the grounds of, his adultery with Lady Margery Barbara during a cruise in the Pacific. (Rear-Admiral Sir Guy Gaunt was naval attache to the Repirblics of America, and had a. distinguished naval career, and commanded the British Consulate at Apia, Samoa, during the rebel attack on the town in 1899.)
