DEAD MAN AT WHEEL.
TRIPLE SHOOTING TRAGEDY.
A CHICAGO CRIME.
New York, November 27,
A mysterious motor-car tragedy was enacted at Chicago, when two nineteen-year-old girls were shot dead and then thrown from a car, which ran on at full speed for some distance before skidding against the kerb, when it was found that there was a dead man at the steering wheel.
A revolver was found on the floor of the car near his feet, but the police have so far been unable to determine whether he shot the girls and then committed suicide, or whether all three. were murdered by a second man who afterwards escaped. The girls, according to their friends, were the victims of the young man in the car, and it is believed that after shooting them he turned his revolver upon himself. The boy was tuberculous, and only a few hours before the tragedy had attempted to choke to death his best male friend. i
