SKELETON IDENTIFIED.
FATE OF AUCKLAND MAN.
DISAPPEARED SIX YEARS AGO

A human skeleton found by some boys among brushwood in the Waikowhai Park on September 7. has been identified as that of Lawrence Callaghan, married, aged 50, who disappeared from his home at Onehunga in August. 1920. The bones were in a sheltered place among lire tea-tree with a\ match-box. a pipe, a bottle with some water in it, besides other articles.
Mrs. Callaghan, giving evidence at the inquest, said that prior to his disappearance in August. 1920, her husband had been ill. She definitely identified the articles found as those belonging to her husband. Dr. Murray said there was nothing to indicate the cause of death. The Coroner brought in a verdict that the bones were those of Callaghan. but there was no evidence to show how he eayne by his death.
