STEAMER GOES ASHORE.
IN WAIROA RIVER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Wairoa, this day. Richardson's steamer Angaroa, while attempting to enter the Wairoa River yesterday, went ashore about 1£ chains outside the eastern pier, and now lies high and dry. Her cargo is being discharged into the Tu Atu. Some difficulty may be experienced in getting th vessel off unless the shingle bank shifts. If southerly weather springs up the position may become considerably worse. The vessel is undamaged..
