Mr W. J. Broadfoot retYarned yesterday* from Mokau. Mrs Cottrell, who has been the guest of Mr F. A. Parker, To Kumi, returned noi*J hthis morning. Mis J. C. Holleston, who left for i'akapui i on Monday, will return to Te Kuiti at the end of the week. The engagement is announced of Mr Roberkl Bramley Joynit, the youngest .sou of Mr and Mrte J. W. Joynt, Nelson, to Miss Muriel Rodgers, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. W. Rogers, Te Puke, Bay of Plenty. At the Chamber of Commerce meeting on Tuesday evening, it was decided 'to send a letter of appreciation to Mr J. G. Wynyard, of To Awamwtu, for the interest he had taken in the formation of Rabbit Boards in this district. The names of Christina Fennell, Convent School, Te Kuiti; Richard D. Ferguson, Te Kuiti District High Scl'ool; and Charles W. Dassler and A T alerie Mary Rowland, Otoruhanga, appear in the list of candidates who reached the standard of qualification in the Junior National Scholarship examination held in November last.
