OTOROHANGA NOTES.
._♦- (Own Correspondent.) > Reserved judgment has been delivered by Mr F. W. Platts, S.M., in the case in which Timothy Koarins, of Kio Kio, farmer tKio Kio) sought to recover from A J. McCready, butcher, Otorohanga (Mr Trapski) the sum of £9O 16s for damages caused by the defendant's dog to the plaintiff's sheep. The Magistrate disallowed the claim for general damages, also for loss of profits and for discoloured w»ool, and gave judgment for the sam of £35 17s 6d and costs, The carriage of maiik. from Otorohariiga to Kawhia has now commenced, and the contractor., Mr W. Dick, is now running a regular goods and passenger service three times weekly through 'tlio Ngutunui Road. During the bad weather experienced during tho holiday season the roads wore very heavy, Wit with the present good weather the voads are in good order and the contractor is making good time each trip.
The Chamber of Commerce has now made arrangements for a trip to Arapupi on the 29th (Anniversary Day), particulars of which are advertised in this issue. When the party arrives at Arapuni, it will be taken in charge of by tttie camp foreman and shown over the works now being carried out for the development of hydro-electricity.
