It is in the roasting of coffee-berries Tihat results in the development of tho exquisite flavour so much appreciated by coffee-drinkers. That is well-known. But it is not so well known that outNew Zeailand-grown tobaccos are now subjected tlo the same roasting or toasting process, and with the same result. The flavour is brought fully out, while at the same tSme the deleterious properties of the tobacco are destx-oiyed. All tobaccos, no matter where grown, have tlhis in common—that they contain Nicotine, some more, some less. And it is this poison that is ohiefly responsible for the sufferings of tfhose who indulge to freely in the use of the fragrant weed. Heart and nerves are generally affected and often the eyesight. Scientists now tell us that toasing neutralises part of the Nicotine and that toasted tobaccos may, therefore, be smoked with impunity. They recommend Biverhead Gold, mild and aromatic; Toastgd Navy Cutl (Bulldog), medium strength; and the full-bodied Cut Plug No. 10 (Bullhead label). All are toasted. 16
