Young Geordie had just left school, and as ho fancied he wouvld like to be an engineer, he went to see the head foreman at a local factory. “I am sorry, my lad,” said that worthy. “But we are very slack here at present. lam afraid we have not enough work in. to set another man on.” “Oh, don’t let /that worry ye,” replied Geordie, nothing daunted, “the work that I do wouldn’t make much difference.”
