AGAINST MAORI YOUTH. CAUSTIC SODA TN PORRIDGE. (By Telegraph.- Press Assoeiaolfln.) Gisborne, this day. A half-caste named Donald Stewart, alias Beta, Panepa, aged 17 years, wlnii was recently sentenced to three monllis’ imprisonment atTokomaru Bay for tjiioft, came before the Magistrate’s Count this morning on a charge of attempting to murder a woman named I’ararihia Walker.
’l'he charge is a sequel to the trial at Napier of a. Maori girl on a charge of attempting to murder her mistress a;t Waipawa by putting caustic soda in some porridge. Stewart, who is now (•barged with the offence, was remanded to Napier.
