ARREST OF A DETECTIVE.
“800 BILL.” LEADER OF BANDITS. A detective has been arrested aij Chicago for alleged connection with the Milwalukee-St. Paul train robbery on June 13, as “an insido man.” The detective is named \V. A. Fahy, ho is known as “Bog Bill,” and has tho reputation of being Mo smartest man in the service. He was remanded on £IO,OOO bail. The bandits of whom he is alleged to be the leader secured booty' valued at £400,000 when they held up a train on the St. Paul Railway in June. Faliy’s most/ spectacular success as a Government agent was the arrest and cdnviction of big Tim Murphy and his gang for the £76,000 mail robbery at Chicago station three years ago. His arrest was due to the fact that the plans for the St. Paul lioldnup miscarried. One of tho gang took up a wrong position find was mistaken by another member for a dotective and was shed.. His brother believed it was a case iif treachery, mid subsequent quarrels leu to the arrest of Fahy.
