He threw a'pie-dish, which liil her on the head, and then threw her to the floor, saying he would kill her. she freed herself, ran outside and snatched a gun which her sons had just brought back from a duckshooting expedition. George Cleggett, aged 13, loaded it for her, and when her husband approached she threatened him. He replied, "Do so," and she fired, hitting him in the shoulder. The second shot hit him in the neck, and he died before the police and doctor arrived.
