CRICKET 1 . Only one match in. the Maniapoto Orickjet Association's championship competition took place on Saturday, Pio Pio defaulting to Otorohanga, Tc Kriiti played Railway tut the Domain and were robbed of a well earned victory by a downpour of rain which forced the declaration of a draw. Te Ivniti took first strke, and compiled 170 runs for eight wickets, when thpy declared. Of this total Patrick made 125 in a magnificent innings in which be hit out strongly all round the wicket, making eight sixes and ten fours. -His score is a record in the history of the Maniapoto competition. When the rain put an end to play Te Kuivi had taken nine of Railway’s wickets for 87, of which Drew 19 and Douglas 17 (not out) had. made the top scores.
