PLAN TO MURDER BRITISHERS
(Pie ss Association. —Copyright.) (Received 10.45 a.m.) London, December 8
The Cairo correspondent of the Daily Mail says the plotters find the greatest difficulty in selecting assassins for London. They are-hardly likely to escape arrest, therefore they must not be too deeply initiated into the Nationalist conspiracy for fear of betraying important secrets. There is a Nihilist clique attacked to the Nationalist party here. The clique holds secret meetings in the houses of wealthy Egyptian supporters to excite themselves into political hysteria, and also smuggled cocaine. “Hurrah for death” is a common ejaculation at these orgies, in which violent criminals besides many students participate. All the Egyptian Ministers received a circular purporting to be signed by army officers expelled from the Soudan, declaring that they intend to lead a military rising and massacre all the British in Egypt. The circular is regarded as a Nationalist forgery. King Fuad, having rejected the demand of the Nationalist Deputies to reassemble Parliament immediately, they are sending another petition repeating the demand in violent terms, denouncing Zirwar Pasha, the new Premier, as a British puppet.
