In the N.S.W. House of Assembly, the Premier, referring to a recent announcement that the emigration of Yugoslavs was being diverted from America to Australia, said Cabinet action had been taken to prevent their ingress into New South Wales. Emanuel Bedlivy, aged 22, a few weeks after marrying a pretty girl, 20 years of age, locked her in a flat at Vienna, and blocked the entrances with furniture. He then set fire to the woman’s clothing, which he had saturated with petrol. A fire brigade broke in and rescued the girl, whose life her husband had insured heavily a few days previously. Mr P.
