A novel argument in justification of large sites for schools ancl playgrounds has been advanced by Dr George Macdonald, secretary of the Scottish Education Department. Speaking at the opening of a new school, he said land was anything but dear. How many people realised that it was cheaper, often very much cheaper, than linoleum.
