One of the largest cargoes carried from Quebec this year on a passenger liner arrived at the Port of Liverpool on the Canadian Pacific liner Montlaurier. It consisted of 80,000 bushels of grain (601 b to the bushel), 4000 tons of butter, 100 Canadian motor cars, and a large quantity of timber. , The Liverpool landing stage has long been famous for the rapid despatch and comfort it affords to passengers and their luggage, but the Montlaurier achieved what must approach a record when at the stage recently she landed 350 passengers, 500 pieces of luggage, and 1500 bags of mails in the short period of 15 minutes. Another record created by the Montlaurier on her recent arrival at Liverpool was to complete the most rapid passage of any liner from Quebec to Liverpool this year, the voyage being accomplished in G days 13 hours.
