STOCK SALE REPORTS. HAMILTON. Tlie Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— In the Frankton yards on Tuesday, November 27, we had a small entry of beef and sheep, and a fair yarding of store, cattle. Both steers and cow beef showed a considerable improvement on the previous market. Better competition was also shown on store cattle of all classes, while the bidding of fat sheep was anything but brisk. Medium fat steers made up to £lO 2s 6d, small unfinished £5 10s to £6 •Is, medium fat cows £ls to £5 os, fresh conditoned cows £3 to £4, good 15months Shorthorn steers £2 13s, small 36s to £2 2s, well-grown 15-months’ Shorthorn heifers £2 15s to £2 19s, small 3Js to £2 2s, good framed store cows £2 15s to £3 ss, others £2 to £2 ss. Sheep.—Fat wethers 325, good forward 4-tooth wethers 29s 2d. fat lambs (small) 24s Gd. A full yarding of fat and store pigs were penned. The quality of the fats was a good deal better than the previous week, therefore there was a slight improvement in prices. Heavy baconers £4 to £4 ss, medium £3 14s to £3 19s, lighter baconers and good porkers £3 5s to £3 10s light to medium porkers £2 10s to £3, unfinished 35s to £2 ss, slips 27s to 345, best weaners £1 to £1 7s, small 15s to 17s.

FRANKTON. N.Z. Loan and M.A. Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report:— At Franlcton yards on Tuesday, we had a good yarding of fat and store cattle, and we were able to make a total clearance. We quote.— Best fat cows £6 5s to £7 11s, others £4 12s 6d to £5 ss, fresh conditioned cows £3 Is to £3 7s, 2£ to 3-ycnr-old steers £4 7s, yearling to 15month steers £2 to £2 Jos, yearling Shorthorn heifers £1 10s to £2 ss. Jersey cross heifers £2 10s to £3 ss, Friesian heifers £2 18s, dairy cows £5 to £B. We had a small entry of two pens of shorn ewes, which realised £1 11s 6d. Pigs.—A good yarding of fat and store pigs came forward and prices were on a. par with last week. Prices realised were-Heavy baconers £3 17s to £4 6s, medium baconers. £3 to £3 15s, good porkers £2 10s to £2 17s, unfinished £2 to £2 7s, good slips 35s to £2 Is, others 30s to 335, good weaners 24s to 335, small 16s to 225. WESTFIELD. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Westfield, on Wednesday, 28th November, 1923, as under:— f

Beef.s—An average yarding. Prices were about 3s per lOOlbs better than last week. We quote: Extra prime ox 30s per lOOlbs, choice and prime 25s to 28s, prime 22s to 245, other 17s to 21s, prime young cow and heifer beef 24s to 265, other 18s to 235. Sheep.—A good yarding, with prices on a par with late rates. Heavy prime wethers 33s Gd to 355, good wethers 31s to 335, light 29s to 31s, others 25s to 28s, best heavy ewes 27s to 28s 6d, good ewes 25s to 275, others 18s to 23s 6d, best fat hoggets 30s to 31s 6d, good hoggets 28s to 29s Gd, others 23s to 275. Lambs.—An extra heavy yarding. Freezing buyers were operating moderately. Best lambs 26s to 28s, good lambs 23s 6d to 255, others 18s to 235. Pigs.—An average yarding, with prices easier than last week. Choppers £2 to £2 15s, heavy baconers £3 15s to £4 ss, medium baconers £8 to £3 12s, light baconers and heavy porkers £2 os to £2 18s, medium and light porkers £1 15s to £2 4s. Calves.—An extra large yarding. Prices for extra good calves were about the same, hut inferior sorts were dull of sale. Runners £2 15s to £3, heavy vealers £2 5s to £3, medium vealers £1 15s to £2 3s, light £1 to £1 15s, fresh dropped 3s to 9s, rough calves £1 to £1 ss.
