ORPHANS' CLUB.

SUCCESSFUL EVENING. The usual fortnightly meeting of the Orphans' Club drew an average attendance at- the club's rooms on Saturday evening last, and was presided over by Orphan Doolan. Orphan Armitage opened the programme with "Two Eyes of Grey," and "Castillian Lament.' 1 in both of which he was heard to advantage. As an encore number to "Moonlight in Venice," Orphan L. Sparks played some pleasing mandolin selections from "Maritana." Orphan Mortimer was ii: exceptionally good form, singing "Tnvictus" and ''l'll be Hoping You'll Remember." This latter number was treated with great sympathy and was particularly enjoyable. Orphan Cato appeared in a new role, that of vocalist, singing two songs in gcod style. Th« humorous element was supplied by Orphan Allison in "The Man With a Single Hair," and Orphan Harold Timbers secured a double encore for his violin solos "Salut I'A.nour" and "Home, Sweet Home,' with variations. He also displayed much artistry in his .playing of Gounod's "Meditation." Orphan Ferguson concluded the programme with "Good Company" and the ever popular "Rosary." Orphan W. Scrimgeoii" played the accompaniments.
