FOOTBALL MATCH ON SUNDAY

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —Many people besides myself are wondering why it was that a football match was allowed to be played in Te Kuiti last Sunday. After making enquiries the answer I received was this: "0, well, the people can do as they like just now, because Te Kuiti has no mayor. This is a splendid testimony to the moral backbone shown by the exmayor, and also a strong argument fo'- bis re-election. As a lover of pure sport, and for five years I was a member of different, sports clubs, I have no wish to restrict or hamper football, but at the same time I and many others assert that the legitimate time and day for sport is certainly not Sunday.— l am, etc., SPORT AT THE RIGHT TIME.
