Many willow-trees in the Wellington district have been attacked by a disease which is killing them. It has been noticed that the disease is affecting trees w'hich are more or less of mature growth, and its presence can be ascertained by putting pressui'e on the bark, which will readily fall away. On some of the tree-trunks examined recently the bark had fallen off and the trees were dying.
