Arrangements are welt in hand for the library social on Thursday night. A Wilson M. Tapp. *.J! Inst night's meeting e>f the Borough Council, it. j. F. Walsh said that people were asking what was being done in the matter nt the freehold. The Mayor explained that the matter was delicate, and it was inadvisable to make a statement just now. He asked for patience in the meantime. Councillors : " Hear, hear." Cr. Walsh: "Are we like Micawber, waiting for something to turn up?'' The Mayor (emphatically): * r Nol"
