IN MEMORIAM.

Composed by Francis Colin Stuart in memory of the late RODERICK McLEAN, who fell in action on the battle front in France. ■ i Peacefully he sleeps far away from his homeland, A lad of the tartan of a brave gallant clan. ' He was drawn by duty away from his living To meet the grim reaper and die like a man. Scotland ! Oh Scotland I Aye cherish thy heroe, Who gave for thee his all in the fight, So that thy fair land might never be trodden By cruel apostles of kultur and might. Sad is my heart for the night winds are sighing, Bringing the news,-o'er each mountain and glen, Oh, sad was my heart when the tidings came flying, ./ That told of his death to his nearest of ken. w'. Bravely he fought—aye and bravely he's fallen, Leaving'behind him sad hearts, oh, so -.„, sore. Now the wild wailing echoes far o'er the moorland, In a dirge for the brave highland laddie We'll ne'er see no more.
