AUCKLAND MARKETS Auckland, Thursday The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co, Ltd., report:— At Westfield fat stock market today beef was penned in extra small numbers, the demand again being especially keen and prices further advancing. Choice ox sold to £3 per 1001b, others £2 12s to £2 18s, cow and heifer tieef £2 8s to £2l Be. No extra heavy weights were yarded. Steers sold from £l6 to £23 17s Gd, cows and heifers £l2 to £lB 15a. Calves were also penned in small numbers, and Hold, at extreme rat«B. Runners £7 to £lO 4a. No heavy vealers were yarded. Modiu-n voalera £4 10s to £6 ss, lighter £3 6s to £4 9s, light £2 10d to £3 lis, Bmall fresh dropped 14s to 365, weedy 4s to 12s. Sheep were penned in smaller numbers than usual, and the market showed a firmer tone, best wethers gelling at from 46s 6d to 56s 6d, others 38s to 455. Best ewea 40s to 49a, otherß 84s to 39b. Hogaets, best 36b to, 465, others 3ls to 35s 9d. Pigs wera penned in average numbers and sold at fully last week's rates, Choppers sold from £5 13s to £6 15s, heavy baconera £4 16s to £5 10a, small ba« coners £3 15s to £4 12s Gd, large porkers £3 12s to £4, medium £2 18s to £3 10s, light 3fis to 565. No slips or.weaners were yarded. <
