PEOPLE'S PfCTURES. The "King of Thievos—Otronto," will be screened ngain this evening and is supported by a good pro<gramme. Thursday and Friday an A. 13. Masterpiece ."The Country Parson," will be supported by an exceptionally good all-round programme. The great serial drama "The Broken Coin," will be screened in which serial will bo featured Grace Cunard and Francis Ford of 'Master Key" fame.
EMPRESS PICTURES
"Iho Submarine Finite" featuring Syd. Chaplin, the most remarkable photo picture yet screened, will be again screened this evening, the supporting programme being the best. Thrusday and Friday the star picture- will bo another Triangle production Jeutruing Frank Keenan in "The Cowarj" a six-part picture. Tho Empress high-class series of dramas, 1.-ipicals, educational, scenic and comedy films will support the star production.
THE POISONER,
The Stevenson Dramatic Company will appear in the above drama at the People's Picture Palace on Friday, September 28th. "Tho Poisoner" is an oxcoHunt drama by tho pen of John Eraser, an American dramatist of note. The climax in "The Poisoner" is suid to bo ono of the strongest in modern drama. The bacteriologist, one of the principal characters, takes up a phial containing a colourless liquid in reality poison—adds a few drops of a reagent—also colourloss—and tho contents turn a vivid blue. A sharp cry escapeß a hitherto unsuspected member of the assembled party. The company is headed by Mr Frod Francis who quite recently appeared with the Allan Wilkie Shakesperian Company at His Majesty's Theatre, Auckland, and who has for many years been regarded aa the best leading man in Australia. Misa Francis Grey, a late member of tho Allen Wilkie Sbakeaparian Company; Miss Vera Benson, who was witn the Oscar Asche Lily Brayton Cumpanyr and a number of other well-known names complete a noteworthy cast of characters in the great American mystery drama.
