DASH TO CALAIS. RETREAT IN DISORDER. Paris, Wednesday. Tho German right wing intended to make a dash for Calais, which waß timod to coincide with tho taking of Antwerp, the object being to striken second blow at England's prestige, and plant the German flag in sight of tho British thorea. French guns were advantageously placed on an eminence at Montcassel. Tho German forces were met with a raking fire from trenchea which escaped their notice. Many hundreds were killed and wounded. The Germans retreated in disorder. Two days later tho German front was thrown over tho Belgian order.
