The Labour Day Celebrations to be held a,t Te Kuiti promise to afford a highly' enjoyable day's sport. A programme notable for its variety has been arranged, and should giv,e rise to an immense amount of - interest and amusement, while special provision has been made for the entertainment of the children. The procession from the Fire Brigade station to the Domain should be a feature of the occasion. The proceeds of the function are to be devoted to the Rundle Benefit Fund. Mr C- K. Wilson, member for the district, is visiting Rangitoto to-day, and will deliver a speech to, the settlers. On Monday afternoon he will address the Otewa settlers, and in the evening speak £at Otorohanga. Mr Wilson intends returning to Wellington on Tuesday. He will prob ably give an address at Waitara before the end of the session, and will then undertake his baekblcck tour. "~Mr W. T. Jennings, the Liberal candidate for the Taumarunui electorate, is now in the Ohura district. He has addressed meetings at Tatu. Tokorimu Opatu, Aukopae, and Roto early in the week, and had a highly successful meeting at Nihoniho on Thursday. He spoke at Matiere last night, and will speak at Ohura He will then visit the railway works at Mahirakau and Okahukura, and will addreßS meetings at Taumarunui and In the surrounding district during the latter part of next week_ After leaving Taumarunui Mr Jennings visits Tangitu, Waimiha and Kopaki, and will speak at Te Euiti on Monday, November 2nd. The dates for tjie candidate's meetings in the Te Kuiti district are published in another eoluinu.
