COMMERCIAL.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, report:— At Westfield, on Wednesday, fat cattee of all descriptions were yarded in leas numbers than usual, and oxen sold at improved rates. Cows and heifers showed no improvement in prices. Best oxen sold to 31s, others 28s to 30s, cows and heifers 25s to 28s. Steers sold at from £7 15s to £l4, cows and heifers £4 to £8 15s. A draft of 24 Bteers, small, but extra prime, from Messrs R. and W. Gollan, Panmure, averaged £l2 6s 6d. Veal calves came forward in large numbers, and sold at late rates. Extra choice vealers sold at from £4 to £5 10s, heavy vealers £3 5s to £5 16s, fresh dropped 3s to 10s. Sheep were penned in larger numbers than usual, and sold at higher prices, improving from 2s to 3s per head. Best wethers sold at from 19s to 23s 9d, others 15s to 19s, one pen of woolly wethers realise 295, extra heavy ewes 19s 9d to 21s, heavy ewes 17s 6d to 19s, others 13s 6d to 16s 9d. Lambs were penned in good supply, and sold well. Best quailty 15s 6d to 18s 3d, others 10s 6d to 13s 9d. Pigs came forward in usual numbers, and sold at late rates. Baconers sold at from £2 16s tn £3 ss, large porkers 2s to £2 15s, porkers 30s to 40s, slips 16s to 225, weaners 8s 6d to 145.. We had a fair entry of all classes of stock at our monthly Matamata sale on January 28th. Owing to the Southdown works being blocked, fat stock was rather lower. Fat cows and heifers made from £5 10s to £7 13°, fat ewes 13s lOd to 15s 3d, store cowb £3 5s to £4 17s 6d, veerling Bteers £2 to £2 Bs, calves 25s to 345. Btore wethers to 16s Id, store lambs 8s to 9s, porkers 28s to 34b, weaners 13s to 17s. TE AROHA STOCK SALE.

We had a large entry of all classes 0 f fat stock at our monthly Te Aroha sale on January 30th. Fat ewes made 16s 4d, fat cow's and heifers £4 15s to £5 17s 6d, yearling to eighteen month steers £2 14s to £3 ss, heifers £3 12s 6d, three year steers £6 15s, calves 22s to £3 93, pigs, roeaners to 9s, sows £2 4s.
