BOROUGH CONSULTING ENGINEER.

MR SPENCER'S POSITION. In connection with the applications for the position of consulting engineer to the Te Kuiti Borough Council the following letter was received from Mr L. G. P. Spencer: — "I notice that your Council is inviting applications for a consulting engineer to the Borough, but personally I have decided not to apply in view of my being at present engaged in a contract with the Borough, as I consider it would be inadvi3able to hold the dual position. Should, however, the Council, at some future date, require the services of an engineer, who han intimate knowledge of the peculiarities o? the physical conditions of the town, shall be pleased to offer them my services."
