TE KUITI FIRE BRIGADE.
A meeting of the Fire Brigade was held in the brigade's room on Wednesday evening 1 .st. Mr H. Jane, who was present, tendered hiß resignation as captain of the brigade. Mr Jane's resignation waß accepted with regret, eulogistic remarks being made upon the good work done by him during his captaincy. Mr Jane, in reply, seated that he regretted leaving Te Kuiti brigade and mentioned the good work done by the men. Upon a ballot being taken, Mr Rawlinsun was elected captain, and Mr Kingsley foreman. Tha latter, who has had a large amount of experience in the Invercargill Brigade should prove an acquisition to the local brigade. General discussion on matters affecting the brigade's welfare, was indulged in. In view of the forthcoming demonstration which will be held in Auckland on February 6th and 7th, it was decided that regular practices ba held and Btrenuous efforts made to do the brigade full justice at the demonstration.
