KIRITEHERE-MOEATOA.

Own Correspondent

A chainman has been sent down to lay off the Mangakokopu road, and he ig now pitching his camp in preparation for the work. It is to be hoped that the work cf widening this road wdl bi: consistently pushed forward after it in laid out, and not be allowed tj be held over in any way. Adequate means oi getting in and out to the Main Trunk ii what we want and the widening of the Mangakokopu will be a step in the right direction. Unless the road is sufficiently widened for vehicular traffic a large portion of the prosperous, and rapidly developing district will have to depend on pack and stage horse as a means of travel to the railway for all time.
