EMPRESS PICTURES. The star picture for to-night's change of programme is a photo play of Ouida's wonderful romance, "Under Two Flags." This magnificent series depicts the captivating and enthralling adventures of an English soldier of fortune. The Hon. Bertie Cecil, who, taking upon his shoulders the burden of shame that should rightly rest upun a friend, sacrifices a brilliant career in the English army, resigns his commission, and afterwards achieves fame and distinction in the wars in Northern Africa, under the flag of France. The episodes in the life of this man and the enchanting devotion through stress and trial, of his picturesque companion in exile, the brilliant vivandierre, "Cigarette," who subsequently faces the bullets of the soldiers and gives her life for her love, constitutes one of the greatest romantic dramas ever screened.
