PROGRESSIVE MEASURES PROPOSED. FACILITATING SETTLEMENT. NEW NATIVE LAND BILL . THE annual statement showing the financial position of the Dominion as at the 31st March, 1913, was submitted to the House on Wednesday by the Hon. James Allen, Minister of Finance. The statement shows a surplus for the year of £785,618, and an increase in the revenue as compared with the previous year of £701,478, the revenue for 1912-13 being £11,734,022 and for 1911-12 £11,032,544. The estimated expenditure for the year was £11,229,004 and the actual amount expended was £11,082,038. The expenditure for the year 1911-12 was £10,340,368, showing an increase in 1912-13 of £741,670. During the year the amount of £750,000 was transferred to the Public Works Fund.
