SMALL POX IN SYDNEY.

A disquieting small pox development occurred to-day it being announced there were eight cases at the Prince Alfred Hospital. An old man who was admitted on July 23rd, suffering from pneumonia died on the 28th. Prior to death a rash appeared. Every precaution was adopted notwithstanding which two patients, three nurses, two wardsmen, and the resident doctor developed small pox in the usual mild form. Stringent isolation haa been enforced and the hospital is absolutely closed to visitors excepting in the most urgent cases Besides those in the hospitals thirteen other cases from various suburbs are reported to day. The Victorian authorities are again vigorously insisting on paßaengers in trains from New South Wales producing vaccination certificates. Many travellers are stranded at Albury. Dr Makgill vaccinated the Moeraki s passengers on Sunday. The doctor commenced inquiries immediately, but declined to say anything regarding his
