TOWN OFFICIALS' QUARREL. ENGINEER SHOOTS CLERK. By Telear-aph.—Press Association.—Co pyr I cut Melbourne, Friday. James Parker, enginer of the Footscray Municipal Council, has been arrested on a charge of attempting to murder James R. Knox, acting town clerk of Footscray. Relations have been strained for some time past. Knox was formerly assistant engineer under Parker. A stand-up fight occurred laat week, and last night Knox was shot, it is alleged, by Parker. U]s condition is serious, four bullets having entered his body.
